MARC JACOBS

Marc Jacobs (born April 9, 1963 in New York City) is an American fashion designer.

At Parsons (High School)
1981- Jacobs designed and sold his first line of hand knit sweaters at Charivan
　　　- His first collection was for Reuben Thomas, Inc. under the "sketchbook" label.
　　　- designed a "grunge" collection for Perry Ellis

1984 - Awared : 1.The Perry Ellis Gold Thimble Award
　　　　　　　　2.The Chester Weinberg Gold Thimble Award
　　　　　　　　3.The Design Student of the Year Award
　　　- formed partnership till now with Robert Duffy, Jacobs Duffy Designs Inc
1986 - designed first collection bearing the "Marc Jacobs" label.
1987 - awarded The Council of Fashion Designers of America Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent
　　　(the youngest designer to be awared the industry's highest tribute)
1993 - left from Perry Ellis and back to design his own label
　　　- voted Womenswear Designer of the Year bye CFDA
1997 - being the artistic director for Louis Vuitton
　　　- responsibility for launching the ready-to-wear collections and new accessories lines
　　　-introduced modern pop into sedate image
　　　　e.g. Stephen Sprouse's graffiti bags and Takashi Murakami's pastel-colored accessories
